1974-1998: twenty-four years with the United Nations Economic Commission
for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). From 1974 to 1985, at ECLAC's Mexico Office, as Economic Affairs Officer in charge of economic integration in Central America. From 1985 until early retirement in 1998, as Director of ECLAC's Washington Office.
Visiting Lecturer: on economic and business prospects in the Western
Hemisphere, at American, Georgetown and George Washington universities; at the U.S. Army War College, the National Defense University, the Inter-American Defense College, and the U.S. State Department Foreign Service Institute; at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chambers of Commerce of Colombia and El Salvador; and at the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico and the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico.
