Mr. Femenella is a licensed Structural Engineer and also holds an MBA degree. He has spent the past 19 years as a consultant in the real estate and construction industry. He has been a member of two of the countries largest firms that provide consulting services to lenders and equity investors. For the past two years Mr. Femenella has had his own consulting practice. He has had extensive experience with a myriad of projects including large regional malls in Minnesota, Rhode Island, Nashville, and Savannah; an entertainment complex in Baltimore; high-rise hotels in New York and Baltimore; office buildings in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston, and Virginia; and various condominium, residential, retail, and commercial projects throughout the eastern United States from Florida to New Hampshire. The projects he has been involved with range in size from a 2,000,000 sf regional mall to a small 4-unit single-family home development and everything in between. In addition, Mr. Femenella has worked on many renovation and conversion projects and has performed due diligence inspections on existing projects for potential buyers and investors. Mr. Femenella also has a strong background in analyzing construction costs and budgets.
Mr. Femenella’s wide-ranging experience give him unique insight into the construction industry including almost all facets of design, financing, construction, quality, management, scheduling, and costs.
SYNOPSIS OF B.U.S.E. TALK
Title – “Inter-Relationships and Complexities of the Construction Process”
This talk will provide an overview of the construction process concentrating on its complexities. Topics to be discussed will include a basic understanding of how the construction process work from conception to completion; the inter-relationships of the various parties (owners, tenants, contractors, inspectors, architects and engineers, investors, and lenders); the complicated processes involved; typical problems encountered; and problem avoidance and resolution techniques.
