After five years in New York, Heidi Keller is one of the 7,500 a month move-ins who now call Las Vegas home. She moved here this spring to become part of the possibilities surrounding America’s fastest growing county. Not an unusual tale for our fabled city.
Upon arriving in Vegas, and building on her loves and experiences — marketing, public relations, party planning, and social networking — Keller crafted an idea, a way for people to make new friends in a fun, non-threatening, no pressure environment. As a result, Get Out! Las Vegas was born.
Previously, Keller was the product placement public relations manager of Adidas America, where she fostered successful working relationships and friendships with the notoriously difficult New York fashion media. Monthly editorial placement of Adidas product was not unusual in publications such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, and Cosmo despite being an athletic, not fashion, brand.
Before that, she got her feet wet in fashion and event public relations at Macy’s East as publicity manager for the New York metro area. As an on-camera spokesperson and main publicist for the metro area, she helped spread the word about seasonal trends and where to buy them: from Back-to-School to spring and fall fashions. Her event experience came in the form of weekly small in-store celebrity or fashion events up to the largest Fourth of July fireworks display in the world, the Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular, as well as the biggest parade in the world, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Her career was launched, however, at the famed PMK Public Relations Agency in Los Angeles under the tutelage of arguably the most famous celebrity publicist in the world, Founder/Partner Pat Kingsley and Vice President, Jennifer Allen. Keller worked with such stars as Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, Matt Damon and Lisa Kudrow, to name a few, as well as corporate clients like Peter Morton’s Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ron Howard/Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment.
She is a member of Public Relations Society of America, American Marketing Association, Brandeis National Women’s Committee, National Council of Jewish Women, and the New York based women’s networking group, The Incubator.
Heidi Keller is a graduate of California State University, Northridge where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in sociology. She grew up in Northern California and West Texas and now enjoys living in the same town in which her parents live. Viva Las Vegas!
