Joseph Borzotta is a NY/NJ - based artist. A graduate of RI School of Design, he has worn many hats throughout his career: graphic designer, illustrator, teacher, caricature artist, painter, arts organizer, bartender, and eventually bar owner. Borzotta was a 14 year resident of Hoboken, NJ, where he founded the multi-discipline arts group The Hoboken Creative Alliance and was president from 90-94. He then opened a bar/art gallery, Liquid Lounge, in 1997 which finally combined his passion for the arts with business. Last year Borzotta moved to New York City, and in addition to his career as a fine artist, opened 12 Inch Bar in the lower east side in Manhattan. After tonight's speech, there will be an exhibition of his "Lounge Life" series of paintings and drawings. These pieces are scenes from Las Vegas clubs and lounges.
His work has been shown at Steffany Martz Gallery (NY), Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (CA), Newark Museum (NJ), BAMA Gallery (NJ), City Without Walls (NJ), Bergdorf Goodman (NY), Shooting Gallery (CA), and many others.
