Las Vegas Chambers of Commerce and business organizations will bring together business and professional people representing hundreds of industries, companies, and corporations throughout area to provide the ultimate networking experience.
The first annual Las Vegas’ Largest Mixer will be held Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel & Casino. The mixer, which is open to all business people, is $15 per person.
The first mixer, held in July of 1999 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, was the brainchild of Dave Linden, a Los Angeles area public relations consultant and an active member of several Los Angeles area chambers of commerce.
The initial idea came from the success of an event Linden coordinated while working at the Palm Springs Desert Museum in Palm Springs. The chambers of the Coachella Valley were brought together for mutual benefit and cross-membership.
“I was surprised that nothing similar had ever been attempted here in Los Angeles and that many chamber executives from different cities had not been introduced to each other,” said Linden.
The goal of the mixer is threefold. Primarily, it is to encourage membership in several chambers of commerce, allowing businesses to grow based on a wider network of support.
“Many business people don’t realize the benefits of joining more than one chamber,” said Linden.
Each participating chamber will have a booth with representatives to answer questions about their organization.
The mixer also provides a chance for businesses to network with each other for mutual support. Businesses and individuals do not have to be affiliated with a Chamber to attend and the event is open to the general public.
Lastly, vendors will have an opportunity to-promote their business with a tabletop, offering samples of their products and services.
