DANA LONGFIELD
Manager of Sales and Operations
La Femme Theatre, MGM Grand

- Biography -

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Dana Longfield has gained experience with several positions in the travel, entertainment and hospitality industries for more than eight years. In 2002, Longfield’s fluency in French and experience in hotel marketing allowed her to expand into her current position as Sales and Operations Manager for La Femme Theatre.

During the construction and installation of the La Femme Theatre in 2001, Longfield was asked by MGM Grand’s Vice President of Entertainment Todd Dougall to assist with French and English translation between the Parisian Crazy Horse crew and MGM employees. A little more than a year later, she was asked to join the La Femme Theatre permanently, where she remains in her current position.

In the sales aspect of her role, Longfield is responsible for La Femme ticket sales through various mediums including wholesalers, tour, travel, and convention group companies. In addition, she works closely with ticketing, public relations and advertising departments to maximize sales and profits. As operations manager, Longfield maintains the show’s budget, manages and oversees the theatre’s ushers and servers in cooperation with the beverage department, is responsible for hiring and training, oversees guest relations for seating and beverage service, and directly handles all customer service issues.

Prior to her current role, Longfield served as Casino Marketing Special Events Coordinator at MGM Grand from November 1998 through July 2002. In this position, she was responsible for planning and executing all aspects of VIP and special events, analyzed expenditures, developed and maintained a high ticket item gift inventory for guest requests, managed ticket blocks for the property’s 15,000-seat Grand Garden Arena, and supervised the special events staff.

Longfield began her career with MGM Grand in April 1998 as a VIP Casino Marketing Office Specialist. In this role, she evaluated casino customers’ history of play to determine VIP complimentary status, assisted national and domestic slot and branch office casino marketing executives with VIP guest transactions, as well as arranged room, show, restaurant, Grand Garden Arena events, spa and limo reservations for guests.

Before her career at MGM Grand, Longfield was a Front Desk Specialist at Courtyard By Marriott in Las Vegas, where she was responsible for guest relations and registration, scheduled staff and produced forecast and occupancy reports, and managed billing and payment collection for groups.

Longfield has a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she was on the Dean’s Honor List. In high school she studied abroad for one year in France, which gave her the opportunity to advance her ability to speak French fluently.

In her spare time, Longfield has earned a certificate of completion from the Court of Master Sommeliers, is a provisional member of the Junior League of Las Vegas, and volunteers at St. Rose Hospital. In addition, she runs a small personal shopping business known as the Fashion Connection.
