January 31, 2006 – Las Vegas - B.U.S.E. announced today that the guest speaker for its February 7, 2006 mixer is Kim Flowers. Flowers is a leader in her industry, serving as Owner and Executive Director of four John Robert Powers (JRP) schools in Las Vegas and Reno, Nev., Jacksonville, Fla. and Pasadena, Calif., as well as a talent scout, trainer and personal manager. She will be discussing what it is like to be a minority business owner in honor of Black History Month in addition to her most recent success stories.

An entertainer for more than 25 years, Kim Flowers decided to steer her career in the direction of helping others achieve their own dreams of performing. Flowers wanted to open her own talent school, and in 1996, she became the first Af ­ rican American woman to run a John Robert Powers franchise. Flowers founded the Las Vegas branch of John Robert Powers seven years ago and now owns and operates the Las Vegas and Reno, Nev. offices, in addition to the Pasadena, Calif. and Jacksonville, Fla. branches. Additionally, Flowers leads her own talent management and photography companies.

Flowers and her dedicated staff pride themselves on changing lives, creating success stories and making dreams come true with John Robert Powers. As a personal manager, Flowers is currently guiding the careers of many talented children, teens and adults. In 2005, she received top honors from JRP national headquarters by receiving “School of the Year” and “Owner of the Year” awards. In June 2004, Flowers received the Small Business Administration Award for Small Business Person of the Year, nominated by the Urban Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas. In 1997, she was nominated for Businesswoman of the Year by the Black Chamber of Commerce, and is currently on the Board of Advisors with the Nevada Chamber of Commerce. In addition, John Robert Powers corporate headquarters recently awarded Flowers' Las Vegas branch the “Best Success Stories” award for having more talent success stories than any other branch in the United States.

B.U.S.E. stands for Business Professionals, Up-and-Comers, Socialites and Entrepreneurs and is a networking group that meets every Tuesday at the Stirling Club inside Turnberry Place. Most mixers feature special guest speakers beginning at 6 p.m. Following the guest speaker is the mixer portion of the evening with light entertainment, complimentary hors d'oeuvres provided by celebrity chef and B.U.S.E. member Charlie Palmer, and no-host cocktails.

Founded in 2003, B.U.S.E. Club is the well-received concept of Jimmy Foster and Richard Femenella. In her own career, Flowers has graced stages all over the world as a fashion model, actress, singer, dancer and spokes model for the past 35 years. Flowers has toured the U.S. , Europe, South America and the Middle East with such prestigious name brands as Bob Mackie, Peppe Jeans, Benetton, Macy's, Ralph Lauren and Ellen Tracy. She has performed at Bally's, Four Queens and The Dunes hotels as well as appeared on several television shows and music videos like “ Kool School ” and “Living in America .” Flowers' many film, industrial video and trade show credits include Rocky , Wild Orchid and Honeymoon in Las Vegas , plus national advertisers like Ford, Chevy and Shell Oil.

As a personal talent manager, Flowers represents several young stars originally from Las Vegas who are former John Robert Powers students, including Alicia Hall of NBC's “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search”, Conner Rayburn from ABC's “According To Jim”, A.J. Trauth from The Disney Channel's “Even Stevens” and Jessica Miller, the third highest ranked supermodel in the world, who can be seen in ads for Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, and Fendi. Her clients can also be seen in print ads for name brands including Guess, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Sketchers, Levi's and Abercrombie & Fitch; national chain stores Gap, K-Mart, Macy's, Mervyns and Target; magazine layouts for Teen , Cosmo Girl , Seventeen and the Russian edition of Vogue ; and television commercials for Sprint, Capri Sun, Heinz, Wonder Bread, Nestle Crunch, Cricket Cell Phone, Charmin, AT&T, Burger King, Subway, Texaco, Lays, Nintendo 64, Juicy Juice, M&M's, Bounty, Pizza Hut, Showtime, Barbie Mattel and All detergent.

Flowers' students have also landed roles on hit television shows including “Days of Our Lives,”
“Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman,” “The Practice,” “Gideon's Crossing,” “Unsolved Mysteries,”
“The Amanda Bynes Show,” “Kids Say The Darndest Things,” “Simply Raven,” “All That” and “Rip Girls;” and in the theatrical films An Unfinished Life , Daddy Day Care , Pay it Forward , America's Sweethearts , The Mexican , and Oceans Eleven.

Flowers resides in the Las Vegas area. In addition to acting as the personal manager of more than fifteen entertainers and models, she also manages the budding career of her own talented daughter, twelve-year old Chanel.
